Egmont Deer Farmstay

Egmont Villa Farmstay is 5 minutes from New Plymouth by car, with panoramic views over the city, Tasman Sea, Mt. Egmont / Taranaki (pictured above), and the New Plymouth Golf Club. You will stay in your own modern, self contained quarters which include bathroom and kitchen.

The Egmont Villa is situated on a farm near New Plymouth. Your hosts, Lesley and Graeme, have interests in all sorts of farm livestock. Lesley has developed a good knowledge of , which she is keen to pass on to anyone interested. Some of the information is available on this site.During your stay you would be most welcome to spend time around the farm, which has some very quiet hand reared hinds, and any orphan lambs or calves which need rearing during the Springtime. A popular full day guided tour by 4x4 vehicle can be arranged. An example is a visit to the Tarata farm, then on through the back country to the Whangamomona Hotel for lunch, on through the old wooden 'Marco' tunnel, returning home through the suburbs of New Plymouth.

It is a short drive to the popular foreshore walkway, which follows the coastline for 6.5 kilometers and features the fascinating Len Lye Wind Wand and the ironsand surf beaches, which are patrolled during the summer months.
A continental breakfast is included in the tariff, and can be as simple or robust as you require. An Evening meal is available, by request, at an additional surcharge of $25/head including wine.
Tariff: $90 - $140 (NZ Dollars). A discount is available for bookings of 3 nights or more.
